The BAR represents over 500 of the UK’s leading professional removal and storage companies all of which are covered by the 
TSI Approved BAR Code of Practice.
BAR also offers all end-customers of members a free conciliation service to ensure that any complaints against any members are dealt with in a fair and unbiased manner to the mutual satisfaction of all parties involved.
The CMG is a dedicated group of companies within BAR that specialises in all aspects of commercial relocations.
BAR AND CMG are the largest and most recognised removal industry associations, and requires member organisations to meet strict standards that adhere to current statutory requirements and to ensure that all services supplied are for the benefit of our commercial customers.

The British Association of Removers and the Commercial Movers Group further developed a bespoke commercial moving standard the, BS 8522.

To combat this, our team needed to understand the impact of our actions and how we can improve them.
Therefore Specialised Movers have achieved the BS EN ISO 14001 Standard in Environmental Management Systems as a major step towards our responsibilities to the environment.
This international Standard specifies requirements for an environmental management system to enable Specialised Movers to develop and implement a policy and objectives which take into account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organisation subscribes, and about significant environmental aspects. It applies to those environmental aspects that Specialised Movers identifies as those which it can control and those which it can influence.
The Standard covers the following areas:

All our secure destruction work is done in-house. We do not sub-contract. Therefore we have complete control of all the collection and destruction processes, using our own staff and vehicles.
This British Standard for Confidential Destruction ensures;
- Company Premises, where secure destruction must be isolated from other company activities.
- Security, an approved security alarm system, a CCTV system to monitor any unloading, storage and processing areas.
- Contracts and Audit trail, a written contract between you our customer and Specialised Movers.
- Security Screening of personnel, all our are staff are security screened, and sign a deed of confidentiality.
- Security of collecting vehicles and procedure for collection of confidential waste/materials.
We also destroy (or “wipe”) SIM Cards, Negatives, Video/Audio tapes, diskettes, Cassettes, Film, Computers including hard drives, software, chip card etc, id cards, cds, dvds, microfiche, credit and store cards, x-rays, OHP slides etc.
